GROVELLING British Airways chiefs apologised yesterday over the cruel rant posted online about Andy Murray’s mum by one of its bosses.
Simon Taylor’s vile outburst appeared on the web just as 53-year-old Judy’s son was thrilling the nation with his Wimbledon victory.
Taylor, 46 — an area manager in charge of 1,500 cabin crew worldwide — kept up an offensive commentary on her features during the match.

He compared her face to a “recently salted slug” and “a manatee’s spleen” in the Facebook tirade.
Taylor also said she looked “like an arthritic ping pong ball” and “the degraded inner lining of a dumped 1950’s fridge”.
The moron now faces the sack after creating a PR disaster for BA.
Sunday’s astonishing outburst provoked anger among many of his Facebook friends who jumped in to defend Judy.
Shocked pal Claire McGlynn wrote: “Much too mean. Her face is fine and why wouldn’t she support her son? #she’sgreat.”
Another of his friends Mandy Lloyd pleaded: “Now now now Simon, control... ”
And Talia Eagle Merrett chipped in: “O shush your face. I love her.”
BA regularly flies Andy, 26, and his mum to prestigious tennis tournaments around the world.

And only last month the airline ran a contest for passengers to win a day with the tennis ace.
Yesterday a senior BA source told The Sun: “This does not get more embarrassing for BA.
“Andy Murray is Wimbledon champion and saluted by the nation as a hero.
“At the same time that there is growing clamour to make him ‘Sir Andy’, our experienced cabin crew manager is insulting him and his mother, who are both regular passengers. If you were Andy or Judy, would you want to fly with us again?
“Taylor’s future with the airline looks very turbulent.”
It’s not the first time married dad Taylor, of Staines, Surrey, has raised eyebrows with his Facebook page.
He posted a snap of himself drinking from a mug which had the words ‘I’m a T**t’ visible on the bottom.
And in another picture posted last December at the height of the BBC scandal about paedophile presenter Jimmy Savile he is seen drinking from a ‘Jim Fixed It For Me’ mug, right — and wrote the insensitive accompanying message: “Jingle Jangle.”
It also emerged that hypocrite Taylor was in charge of sacking or disciplining up to 20 workers for comments they posted on Facebook during the latest BA dispute.
One woman was downgraded to a lower pay scale for writing: “I’d like to see it” in relation to a list of BA pilots volunteering to stand in for striking cabin crew. Regardless of the row, Judy looked delighted last night as she tweeted a picture of herself with Canadian crooner Michael Bublé backstage at London’s O2 arena.
Airline execs were understood to be contacting the Murray family to personally say ‘sorry’ after being tipped off by The Sun about Taylor’s attack.
A BA spokesman yesterday said: “We are sorry. We are taking this matter seriously.”
