Jubilee Celebrations 2012

Not all of us were off during the celebrations so made the most of dressing up the aircraft for a plane full of passengers.

The fabulous flotilla which graced the Thames, consisting of 1000+ boats of all shapes and sizes, this one is the Queens specially chartered boat.

London bridge raised in honour of the queen with the newly built Shard in the background which disappeared under cloud later as the weather became cloudy and wet.

The Street party found me joining all my neighbours for fun and games and even "roped" into a game of Tug of war and by my face i was taking it very seriously,

After showers of rain the clouds disappeared, blue sky and sunshine adorned us for most of the afternoon.

The Buckingham palace concert saw numerous stars singing for the queen, it was quite funny to see her wearing ear plugs for the entire concert but taking into account she is 86 years old i con't blame her. Here is Gary Barlow ( organiser) and Cheryl Cole.

After recovering recently from pneumonia Sir Elton John did a great job.

Stevie Wonder was his incredible self......spoilt briefly by Will I AM who tried to sing along to "Happy Birthday" and wished the Queen a HAPPY  BIRTHDAY so obviously had no idea why he was there.

Paul was a disappointed as his singing is not like it used to be and hitting the high notes was more a screech than a note.

Gary Barlow leads the Queen on stage after the concert and attempted many times to put his hand on her back....naughty Gary!!!

Obviously missing her husband and deep in thought while everyone sung God Save The Queen.

Amazing fireworks finished off the day perfectly.

Garden

I love the garden, over the years we have invested a lot in it, ponds, furniture, plants, sheds, and when the sun shines with the house as a backdrop it looks lovely!

Indian summer

We are not equipped in this country for hot weather, few of us have air conditioning in our homes so, even though we enjoy the daytime heat and sunshine we find it hard to sleep at nights due to the humidity.
We seem to do nothing but moan, if it rains we moan, too hot we moan, too cold we moan, I don't think we are ever happy with whatever mother nature sends but what I do know us we love to moan. I think more people should have outdoor pools!!

A sunny day

While sitting in the sun it does make us reflect on life, Smooth radio playing next to the teak steamer sun lounger playing tunes from my youth and with my eyes shut i imagine them recording this in the studio as if it were live....then, some things and people i loved would yet be born, and some things/pets/people that i loved in my life would still be on this earth.
There are many things i miss, my aunts, uncles, grandparents, pets, all gone...left me with nothing but memories and photographs.
I also miss jobs i am no longer in and trying to make a path of happiness for myself with everything i managed to salvage but one of the great things i cherish is my parents love, they have always been here for me and are both still on this earth, Dad celebrating his 76th Birthday today ( 22nd May 2012) and since his heart surgery in 2008 has had a new lease of life.
Mum is also fine but i guess none of us are going to live to our mid 70's without some medical complications.
My garden is looking great, all the bedding plants in and loving the sun but the hosepipe ban makes the watering difficult with one watering can, we have started a make shift water butt but need to connect it to the drain to collect the rain water.

The tree is the rockery has great colour at present.

Visited friends in Nuneaton yesterday and went to their local garden centre, what an array of colour!

This lady walked and took care of Megan for about 7 years until her death in December 2010, i had lost contact with her then she boarded my flight Paphos-Gatwick and i almost screamed ( but remained professional) so nice to see her again.

The Paphos aircraft G-EZUU was 10 days old and everything was so new and smelling like a new car does when you pick it up!

Day one in the garden complete, another 5 days off and more of this to come....ahhhhhh Lovely!!!!

Recurrent SEP

 Recurrent number 25 took place 10-11-12th May 2012, the normal stuff, including smoke, doors, drills, exams and a trip to the Thomson Training centre Jetset house situated just between X and Z staff car parks at Gatwick, all passed and legal to fly for another 12 months, phew.....it doesn't get easier as you get older.

 Brace Brace, brace brace, unfasten your seat belts and get out, stand back stand back, come this was come this way.

Also Thomson are getting the new B787 dream liners and the pictures , or should i call them murals were very impressive within the training school

There is another airline i used to work for who's future does not seem to rosy, they  made a loss, the profits are down, the queues in Terminal 5 are ruining future business, and staff moral is so low it must be reflected in the level of service delivered, i for one would never give BA my money...EVER!!! SO many airlines out there who deliver better levels of service without ripping you off.

The 16 week old beagle was a pleasure to meet, hug and play with, I have missed dog contact and really enjoyed the short time I had with them both

Barcelona night stop

WHOO hoo!! The excitement of a night stop after there and backs forever.com!
It's quick, tiring but refreshing all rolled into one. My heart is however somewhere else and not here!! Read into that as you wish.
I must learn that this is now my future and I have to make the most of very little.
